The UAE team wins the Padel Team Championship title at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament.

The UAE Padel Team won the title of the Nad Al Sheba Padel Teams Championship, which was held as part of the twelfth edition of the “Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament,” the largest event of its kind, launched and sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense. The tournament is held annually during the holy month of Ramadan at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, under the slogan “Limitless Abilities.”

The winners were crowned by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Federation, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Balhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, and His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, Vice President of the Dubai Sports Council. The final was also attended by His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department, His Excellency Ismail Al Hashimi, First Vice President of the Asian Padel Federation and Second Vice President of the UAE Padel Federation, His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, and Saeed Al Marri, Secretary General of the UAE Padel Tennis Federation, and Hassan Al Mazrouei, Director of the tournament.
The UAE team won the championship title after defeating the defending champion, the Netherlands team, in the final match, which ended with a score of (2 – 0). The Emirati duo Ignacio Villarino and Enrique Guionaga finished the first round against the Dutch duo Mats Groene and Kai Groene with scores of 2 – 6, 6 – 1, and 6 – 0. The Emirati duo Inigo Geoffrey and Arnau Ayats confirmed the second round and the match early on after defeating the Dutch duo Jank Verwater and Nicolas van Beeto with scores of 6 – 1 and 6 – 3, ending the match in favor of the UAE team, which was crowned the champion.

The organizing committee held a draw for valuable prizes for the match audience, where one of the fans won a Ford Territory. The audience is looking forward to more prizes and surprises in the tournament.
The launch of wheelchair basketball
The wheelchair basketball championship will kick off at 9:30 PM today (Sunday, March 9) at the Dubai Club for People of Determination, where four matches will take place. The Dubai Police team will face the Dubai Courts team at 9:30 PM, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs team will meet the Dubai Ambulance Services team at 10:10 PM, the Sharjah Police team will compete against the Department of Finance team at 10:50 PM, and the Dubai Municipality team will play against the My Dubai team at 11:30 PM.

Tomorrow, Monday, the team from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai will meet with the My Dubai team, the Dubai Police team will meet with the Finance Department, the Community Development Authority team will meet with the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services team, and the Roads and Transport Authority team in Dubai will meet with the Dubai Courts team.
The organizing committee had previously conducted the tournament draw at the Dubai Club for People of Determination, in the presence of the administrators from the participating teams. The draw resulted in the division of the ten participating teams into two groups. The first group included the defending champion Dubai Police, Sharjah Police, the Department of Finance, Dubai Courts, and the Roads and Transport Authority. The second group included the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Dubai Municipality, My Dubai, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and the Community Development Authority.

Tug of war draw
The organizing committee conducted the draw ceremony for the Tug of War Championship, which kicks off on Tuesday, March 11. Participants will compete in three categories: the youth category, the government departments and institutions category, and the community category. The youth category features 8 teams divided into two groups. The first group includes teams from the Sharjah Police Science Academy, A25 Gym Fitness Center, Ahmed bin Rashid School, and B Ninjas. The second group includes teams from the EFBP Sports Academy, Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, Desert Storm, and the Sharjah Sports Council.
Nine teams are participating in the government departments and institutions category, divided into two groups. The first group includes teams from the Civil Defense in Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai Media, Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Police, and the National Guard. The second group includes teams from the Dubai Transport Security Administration, the Ground Forces, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Education.

In the community category, 16 teams are participating, divided into 4 groups. The first group includes teams from Dulsco Group, Transguard Group, IFBB Sports Academy, and Al Musallami Group. The second group includes teams from EFS Champions, Al Jawarih, Agnis Contracting Company, and Al Habtoor Group. The third group includes teams from DTC Group for Construction, Al Aseefa, Al Sahel Contracting Company, and Al Kawasir. The fourth group includes teams from AG, Truss General Trading, Kerala Kings, and Fighters.

Strong competitions
The obstacle challenge race witnesses strong competitions among participants of various nationalities and ages, as they compete to overcome 11 diverse obstacles in the shortest possible time. The championship continues until Monday, March 10. Meanwhile, the badminton championship, held in the main hall of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, concludes today, Sunday. The shooting with running (laser run) championship takes place on March 10 and 11, the tug-of-war championship starts on March 11 and continues until March 18, the cycling race is held on March 15 and 16, and the volleyball championship begins on March 12 and continues until March 20.
