Dubai, UAE – November 10, 2024:
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, crowned the champions of the inaugural Dubai Premier Padel P1 Tournament at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium on Sunday evening.

Sheikh Mansoor presented the winners’ trophies to Arturo Coello, Agustin Tapia, Bea Gonzalez, and Delfina Brea Siniesi, the men’s and women’s champions, respectively. The awards ceremony, held on the iconic Center Court, marked the culmination of an electrifying week featuring the world’s top padel players competing for a prize pool of AED 1.89 million.

Organized by Dubai-based Galop Global, the Premier Padel P1 was the first of its kind in the emirate. The event was made possible through collaboration with the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA), the International Padel Federation (FIP), Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai Sports Council (DSC), and Premier Padel.

Coello and Tapia clinched the men’s title with a straight-sets victory over Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galan, winning 6-4, 6-3 in front of an enthusiastic crowd of over 5,000 spectators in Dubai.

Reflecting on their 30-match winning streak leading up to the Dubai triumph, the world number one said:
“We continue to focus on each challenge, one match at a time, and the victories keep coming. We know every match is tough, so we aim to stay focused. Winning in Dubai—a special city and a special tournament—is a fantastic feeling.”

Meanwhile, Gonzalez and Brea Siniesi secured the women’s title with a 6-2, 6-3 win. Brea Siniesi was unable to attend the post-match press conference due to illness, but her partner Gonzalez expressed her surprise at her own strong performance in Dubai after a recent return from injury:
“It was unexpected to play at this level, especially after coming back from injury. It was a long recovery, which meant less competition, so I’m very happy that Delfina and I could win this tournament.”

H.H. Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Association, said:
“We thank H.H. Sheikh Mansoor for his patronage and unwavering support of padel in Dubai. In addition to congratulating our champions—Arturo, Agustin, Bea, and Delfina—on their historic and thrilling success, we hope this landmark event will inspire the next generation of local champions to take up the sport.”

Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary-General of Dubai Sports Council, added:
“In a city renowned for hosting major international sporting events, the Dubai Premier Padel P1 instantly proved its status as a truly world-class event. Bringing the best players from around the globe and the region to Dubai serves as a catalyst for our community’s vibrancy and the sport’s growth in the emirate. Congratulations again to the Dubai Premier Padel Tournament, our champions, and the organizers.”

Ivan Modia, Tournament Director of Dubai Premier Padel P1 and CEO of Galop Global, stated:
“We extend our gratitude to our patron, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor, and the visionary leadership of the UAE for their tireless support of the sports sector. Galop Global remains committed to bringing the Dubai Premier Padel Tournament and other world-class events to this city for many years to come. Dubai deserves to witness champions like Arturo, Agustin, Bea, and Delfina, and these athletes deserve to play in Dubai. Lastly, I would like to thank and commend our outstanding partners—the UAE Padel Association, Dubai Sports Council, International Padel Federation, and Dubai Premier Padel—for their dedication to this inaugural tournament and the sport’s continued growth in the UAE.”

Dubai Duty Free served as the title sponsor of the inaugural Dubai Premier Padel P1 Tournament, with additional support from Joma, Adidas, Aster Pharmacy, Oysho, Greenset Padel, and Nox for this historic event.
