Dubai One Step Away from Historic ABA League Final After Dominant Win Over Budućnost

Dubai Basketball Club moved within touching distance of a historic ABA League Finals appearance after securing an impressive 104-90 victory over KK Budućnost VOLI in Game 1 of the semifinal series, played in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The matchup was originally scheduled to take place at Coca-Cola Arena following the club’s announcement of its return to Dubai. However, recent events forced the team to relocate back to Bosnia and host the game there instead. Despite the unexpected circumstances, Dubai delivered one of its most complete performances of the season.

From the opening minutes, Dubai imposed its rhythm with efficient offense and disciplined defensive execution, eventually finishing the contest with a commanding 14-point advantage against one of the league’s strongest sides.

Dubai produced outstanding shooting numbers throughout the night, converting 36 of 55 field-goal attempts for an exceptional 65.5 percent shooting rate. The team was equally effective from beyond the arc, knocking down 13 three-pointers at a 50 percent clip, while also dominating the boards with 30 rebounds compared to Budućnost’s 19.

Bosnian star Džanan Musa led the way for Dubai with a brilliant all-around performance, finishing with 22 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds to earn one of the highest efficiency ratings of the game.

Brazilian center Bruno Caboclo also played a major role, recording a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Makenzie Wright added 18 points and Tshimanga Kabengele contributed 11 points and 5 rebounds.

Budućnost attempted to rally on several occasions through strong performances from Justin Morgan and Fletcher Magee, but Dubai’s composure and offensive firepower proved too much in the closing stages.

With the victory, Dubai now holds a 1-0 lead in the semifinal series and needs just one more win in the second game on May 25 to secure a historic place in the ABA League Finals in what is already a remarkable debut campaign for the club.
