Australian golfer Kayun Mudadana was crowned champion of the men’s division at the second edition of the UAE Golf Cup, finishing with an impressive score of 14-under par. In the women’s category, South Korea’s Yun Seo Yang claimed the title with a score of 7-under par. On the team level, Australia secured the team championship with a combined score of 25-under par, while the Korean team finished runner-up at 22-under par.
The four-day tournament concluded on Sunday at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, following a series of thrilling performances and fierce competition.
A total of 111 elite golfers participated, representing the foundation and future of the sport in the UAE. The event highlighted the country’s growing commitment to golf development, nurturing young talent, and preparing them for continental and international competitions.
The closing ceremony was attended by key figures including Major General (Ret.) Abdullah Al Hashmi, President of the UAE Golf Federation; Aref Al Awani, Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council; and Tom Phillips, CEO of the DP World Tour, alongside federation officials and distinguished guests. They praised the high technical standards and organizational excellence of the tournament, affirming that the UAE Golf Cup has become an annual milestone for discovering talent and expanding the sport’s base.
Competitions were marked by high-level performances and close results, reflecting the extensive work of clubs and the federation in preparing players and offering them opportunities to compete in professional settings that elevate both their technical and mental skills.
On the sidelines, the Future Falcons Championship was held, featuring 80 young players from the UAE and residents, underscoring the strategic vision to broaden participation and instill golf culture among younger generations.
In his remarks, Aref Al Awani congratulated the winners and commended the outstanding organization and technical level of the tournament. He emphasized that the UAE has become a global destination for golf stars and fans, thanks to its world-class facilities and professional organization.
Abdullah Al Hashmi expressed gratitude to the winners for embodying the spirit of fair competition and reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to advancing golf in the UAE. He also thanked parents, sponsors, and organizers for their vital role in the tournament’s success, stressing that the championship serves as a platform to discover talent and promote the values of sport.
The UAE Golf Federation reiterated its dedication to hosting the tournament annually, ensuring it remains a cornerstone for talent development and a reflection of the UAE’s growing stature in the regional and international golf scene.
