Dubai Hosts GITEX GLOBAL 2025: The World’s Largest AI and Tech Summit Opens with Historic Global Participation

Dubai, United Arab Emirates — 13 October 2025:
GITEX GLOBAL 2025, the world’s largest event for technology and artificial intelligence, opened today to packed halls and the most expansive gathering of global government leaders, tech giants, startups, investors, and business executives. Celebrating 45 years of innovation, the event is being held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 13–17 October.

This year’s edition brings together over 6,800 exhibitors, 2,000 startups, 1,200 investors, and delegations from more than 180 countries. But its impact goes far beyond scale—GITEX 2025 reflects the accelerating convergence of technology, economic strategy, and geopolitical ambition, positioning Dubai as a global nexus where governments, industry pioneers, and innovators collaborate to tackle challenges and build AI-driven economies and societies.

Global Ministerial Collaboration on AI’s Economic and Political Impact
The main stage opened with a keynote by H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, addressing the theme: “Racing Beyond Innovation: AI, Geopolitics, and Resetting the Global Economy.” He emphasized that innovation and economic diversification remain central to the UAE’s national strategy.

“The UAE, guided by the visionary leadership of its wise rulers, is not merely participating in the global innovation race—it is helping shape and anchor it,” said H.E. Al Marri. “We are building an economic model rooted in resilience and future-readiness, powered by knowledge and advanced technologies, reinforcing the UAE’s position at the forefront of the global economic landscape.”

Exploring the global impact of deep tech, Ekaterina Zaharieva, EU Commissioner for Startups, Research, and Innovation, joined Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of the Technology Innovation Institute (the applied research arm of the UAE’s Advanced Technology Research Council), to discuss how deep tech ecosystems can drive national transformation.

“The EU and UAE share a vision to advance innovation for the benefit of our citizens,” said Zaharieva. “We agree on the importance of startups and scale-ups to our economies—and this journey begins at GITEX 2025.”

The “Super Intelligence Cycle” session brought together H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for AI, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; H.E. Ivan Solomon, Canada’s Minister of AI and Digital Innovation; and Amandeep Gill, UN Envoy on Digital Technologies, to explore how AI is becoming the defining economic infrastructure of the century.

“GITEX is a pivotal launchpad for entrepreneurs moving at unprecedented speeds,” said H.E. Ivan Solomon. “We must uphold our values and build together. It’s inspiring to meet people and companies and see our deep partnership with the UAE grow as we share this message: transforming AI from a trusted tool into a technology designed to serve everyone.”

As the EU rolls out its $1.1 billion Apply AI strategy to accelerate adoption across vital sectors, and the UAE oversees $3.5 billion in AI investments under Abu Dhabi’s Digital Government Strategy 2025–2027, government leaders from both regions discussed strategic autonomy in AI. The panel featured H.E. Ksenija Klampfer, Slovenia’s Minister of Digital Transformation; H.E. Dr. Rafal Rosinski, Poland’s Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs; H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai; and Stefan Waki, Director of EISMEA at the European Innovation Council (Belgium), examining how AI factories are becoming central to industrial and national strategies.

Andrew Feldman, CEO of Cerebras—a unicorn company that launched the world’s largest AI supercomputer in partnership with G42—spoke about achieving record-breaking inference speeds that could redefine high-performance computing.

“We built the largest chip in computing history—dinner-plate sized,” said Feldman. “By scaling chip size, we retained more data on-chip and reduced transfer needs. That means lower energy consumption and faster results.”

Global Tech Giants Reveal the Future of Cloud, Connectivity, and AI
Visitors witnessed breakthrough technologies from leading global firms. e& showcased next-gen connectivity and intelligent robotics, drawing massive crowds. Highlights included the Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX concept car, redefining mobility with a record range of over 1,000 km on a single charge, and XPENG’s latest eVTOL aircraft.

Oracle unveiled its unique distributed cloud concept, enabling enterprises to accelerate AI adoption. Attendees experienced a live demo of Oracle Generative AI, creating customizable video avatars in seconds—ushering in a new era of hyper-personalized enterprise tools.

BlackBerry launched a new cybersecurity suite, while Amazon Web Services (AWS) and HCL Software revealed advanced solutions for cloud modernization and enterprise-scale AI deployment.

The day also saw unprecedented international participation, with Brazil joining as Country Partner with its largest-ever delegation. National pavilions from Canada, Spain, Turkey, Chile, Ecuador, and broader representation from Europe, Central Asia, Latin America, Africa, and the Levant added to the global momentum.

Looking Ahead: AI-Born Societies and Cross-Sector Collaboration
Day two promises major announcements and rich discussions, including a virtual keynote by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, in conversation with Peng Xiao, CEO of G42, exploring the foundational architecture of AI-born societies.

High-level dialogues will continue with leaders from G42, OpenAI, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Khazna Data Centers, Cerebras, TAMM (Abu Dhabi Government Enablement Department), Presight, Core42, Inception, AIQ, and MBZUAI.
