Dubai Basketball’s next generation made their mark on the international stage as four U18 Elite players represented their national teams at the FIBA U18 EuroBasket 2026 (Division A & Division B) tournament, held from 24 July to 2 August.
Dubai forward Lukas Kubala made a noticeable impact for his national team, Slovakia in Division A recording the highest rebounds per game (7.1) for his team this tournament.
Luka Malović, Imran Subasić and Tomislav Vucković all played key roles for their respective national teams in Division B of the tournament, with each player finishing the tournament as their country’s leading scorer.
Montenegro’s Malović averaged 14.7 points per game across seven appearances, while Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Subasić recorded 15.7 points per game in seven games. Vucković, who is currently on loan with Croatian club Kvarner, led Croatia’s scoring with an impressive 15.9 points per game across the tournament.
The tournament also provided another significant international opportunity for Dubai Basketball U18 Head Coach Irhad Tinjak, who was appointed Head Coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina U18 national team earlier this year. Tinjak led the side throughout their Division B campaign, working alongside Subasić on the international stage.
The competition saw Croatia finish eighth, Montenegro ninth and Bosnia and Herzegovina 12th. With three players earning leading-scorer honours for their respective national teams and Tinjak leading his U18 national team side, the tournament marked another important milestone for Dubai Basketball’s growing youth programme.
