The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced yesterday the club competitions ranking for the 2025–2026 women’s football season, revealing a significant milestone for the UAE. The UAE women’s football system secured 12th place in Asia with a total of 34.655 points, placing it at the top of both the Gulf and Arab rankings.
The UAE led all Gulf and Arab federations included in the classification, reflecting the rapid and sustained development of women’s football in the country over recent years.
The AFC’s ranking methodology allocates 70% of the score to club performance in continental competitions, while the remaining 30% is based on the FIFA Women’s National Team Ranking. This combined approach strengthened the UAE’s continental standing.
This progress highlights the extensive efforts invested in advancing women’s football in the UAE—ranging from enhancing domestic competitions to supporting clubs and national teams—ultimately elevating the country’s presence and competitiveness on the Asian stage.
